Who's Who?

The Hamilton Family

The Hamilton Family

  • Patricia (Rowena Wallace) is a rich bitch. From an ordinary lower middle-class family, she promised herself, when she was only a teenager, that one day she'd be wealthy. After a tired love affair with David Palmer - the result being the twins John and Angela - she sets her sights on wealthy Gordon, even though she didn't love him. Now she has money, power and influence - and she uses them. She's very ambitious for her daughter.
  • Gordon (Brian Blain) is Mr. Nice Guy. He loves his wife, Patricia, adores his stepdaughter, Angela, and is a workaholic. Although an extremely successful businessman, he is a man of the land at heart. He has been married before. His first wife died during the birth of son, Wayne. Gordon's fondness of Angela causes friction with his son.
  • Angela (Ally Fowler) is 20-years-old and is beautiful, very wild and loves to defy her mother. She enjoys shocking people with her actions and spends her nights in the company of some dutious types. Deep down she wants to break away from the family and be her own person. But she doesn't want to give away the money and style of living that goes with being part of a wealthy family.
  • Wayne (Ian Rawlings) is 22 years-old and is a throughly nasty piece of work. He was raised by his grandparents until he was five and they spoilt him terribly. He's intensely jealous of Angela and there's open hosility between them. He does some pretty awful things to gain attention - and money - even to the extent of trying to ruin his father.
The Palmer Family & Bill Todd

The Palmer Family

  • David (Tom Richards) works hard as an interstate truck driver to give his family the best he can. He was once desperately in love with Patricia. David met his wife Beryl in a roadside cafe. They now have three children. He doesn't understand John, loves daughter Susan and gets on best with sports-loving Kevin.
  • Beryl (Leila Hayes) is a country girl, happy and full of life. She met David while working as a waitress and fell head over heels in love. It takes a lot to upset her and make her lose her temper. She's very fond of her stepson, John, but treats all her children with equal fairness.
  • John (Peter Phelps) is 20-years-old and has a tremendous love of life, probably instilled by Fiona, who looked after him for the first few years of his life. He can't communicate with his father. He thinks John is irresponsible, but he adores Beryl. John has had many girlfriends, but no one has been able to get close to him emotionally.
  • Susan (Ann Henderson-Stires) is 18-years-old and is a well adjusted teenager with a great sense of humour. At an early age she decided she wanted to be a nurse and is now a trainee. She adores kids and wants to have lots of babies of her own. She's fallen in love with Bill Todd, a friend of her bother, John and they are engaged.
  • Kevin (Stephen Comey) is 17-years-old and is tall and lanky. A good sportsman who loves his football and cricket and spends more time at them than at his schoolwork. He is down to earth and so painfully honest, that's he always putting his foot in it.
  • Bill Todd (Andrew McKaige) is 24-years-old and has an easy charm which hides several flaws in his character - among them is an uncontrollable temper. He is very much in love with Susan.
Fiona Thompson and Jill Taylor

Other characters

  • Fiona Thompson (Pat McDonald) is a colourful character, affectionately known by both both families as Aunt Fiona. She has had a shady past and she could ruin many prominent people in the community if she cared to - she knows where the skeletons are hidden. She now has an easy, relaxed lifestyle and owns a block of apartments. A soft touch for anyone in trouble, she can be ruthless when crossed.
  • Jill Taylor (Kim Lewis) is a 19-year-old orphan. Fiona rescued her from a sleazy life on the wrong side of the tracks. She has taken Jill under her wing and treats her like her own sister. On the surface, Jill is a bright, cheerful and straighforward girl. She'd like nothing better than to meet Mr Right and settle down.
